The Topic of the World Meeting of Bulgarian Media This Year is “Policies of Closeness”

The thirteenth edition of the World Meeting of Bulgarian Media has officially started today, 05.10.2017 in Chisinau, Moldova and will continue until the 08.10.2017. Representatives of over 30 Bulgarian media from Europe, USA and Canada take part in the Forum. They will discuss the new educational platforms, the relation between business and education, the new technologies, the free movement of human resources, the responsibility of media to preserve Bulgarian language and of course the condition of Bulgarian communities.

A press-club in the city of Taraclia will be opened as a part of the Forum and it will be the 15th one in the network of press-centres of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA). In Taraclia about 85% of the population is Bulgarian and the lectures at the “Grigorii Tsamblack” State University have been taught in Bulgarian for 12 years. The program of the event includes also the signing of a tripartite agreement between the universities of Taraclia, Veliko Tarnovo and Ruse.

. Iotova said that there is a need of media that give power to the citizens and exercise control on the empowered ones. The President of Moldova Igor Dodon has underlined that this meeting is a wonderful initiative and he has not heard of any similar one hosted by the country.

The World Meeting of Bulgarian Media is organised by BTA and the Association of Bulgarian Media Worldwide, and the thirteenth edition is carried out with the support of Sopharma, Huvepharma, Dundee Precious Metals, Aurubis Bulgaria.
